Hospitality Team Assistant

Department: Hospitality
Accountable to: Hospitality Team Leader
Time Commitment: Sunday mornings, including pre-service briefings at 10:00 am and post-service duties as required. Additional hours for special events and training sessions as necessary.

Purpose

To assist in creating and maintaining a welcoming environment of love, acceptance, comfort, and care for all members, visitors, guests, and friends at Lighthouse Fellowship. To enhance their worship experience, encourage fellowship, and help build a stronger church community.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Welcoming and Hospitality
    • Arrive 30 minutes before Sunday services to ensure the venue is welcoming, safe, and ready for attendees.
    • Greet and welcome all attendees, ensuring they feel valued and comfortable when they arrive.
    • Demonstrate compassion and attentiveness to both people and the environment.
  • Service Support
    • Assist with setting up and tidying the hospitality area before and after services.
    • Facilitate the tithes and offering process during services.
    • Provide information and directions to newcomers and regular attendees.
    • Assist with seating arrangements and ensure a smooth traffic flow in and out of the service area.
    • Address any immediate questions or concerns from guests.
    • Collaborate with the hospitality team leader to ensure the smooth operation of the service overall.
    • Support any additional tasks as directed by the Hospitality Team Leader.
  • Team Collaboration and Development
    • Participate in pre-service briefings and post-service evaluations to ensure continuous improvement.
    • Collaborate closely with security personnel to ensure vigilance and awareness of everyone entering the building.
    • Participate in training sessions and development opportunities as provided by the team leader.
  • Special Events and Initiatives
    • Coordinating and executing hospitality efforts for special events and monthly Super Sundays.
    • Contribute to brainstorming and development initiatives aimed at optimising team efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Friendly, approachable, and welcoming attitude
  • Ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure
  • Experience in customer service or hospitality roles preferred
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and needs
  • Dependability and punctuality
  • Basic knowledge of Sunday service protocols and church layout
